Rain Ministries and Native InterVarsity are joining hands to serve Native staff and students.
Kweh, My name is Megan Murdock Krischke. I am a member of the Wyandotte Nation and I am Native InterVarsity’s National Director. Native InterVarsity is a Christian outreach seeking to create communities where Native college students can follow Jesus while honoring their cultures and families.
It is my great joy that Terry and Darlene Wildman are joining Native InterVarsity. Terry serves as our Director of Spiritual Growth and Leadership Development assisted by his wife Darlene who will work on special projects and developing relationships with Native InterVarsity staff.
Terry is, perhaps, my favorite Native Elder. He gently offers his wisdom, honed by a life submitted to the Creator, enriched through deep study of Scripture, and deep respect for the traditions and cultures of the Native people of Turtle Island. I couldn’t be more excited to have him mentoring the young Native campus ministers who are seeking to share the love of Creator Sets Free on campus. These staff are widening a trail that Terry and peers blazed in seeking to be both fully Native and fully Jesus followers. That is a hard road. They will face opposition on campus, from the church, and from their communities. I believe that Terry will be a lifeline to them in hard places so that they can continue in the ministry Creator has called them too. I also expect these young leaders to grow in courage, in love for the Lord, and in wisdom through time spent with Terry.
The Wildman’s will also serve the ministry through advising me, leading and serving at conferences, visiting and teaching on campuses, and sharing their musical gifts.
They, however, cannot do this work without a team of people supporting them in prayer and financial partnership. An investment in the Wildman’s is an investment in the future of Indian Country. Their work will release Native leaders who have experienced the hope and healing of Creator Sets Free (Jesus) and who can bring his message back to their communities.
